It is true that sometimes in life you’re put in situations where you may feel like you’re never going to make it out alive but then you make it and you wonder why you were stressing your pretty little head about it. Two years ago I lost my father and I have never ever been the same again. Because he died back home in Sierra Leone, I am still not convinced he’s dead, I still think he’s alive and people are mistaken. Since the news of his death, I have been plagued with thoughts of making sure I live my life full of fun, laughter and many many memories and how much I must always make sure I live life to its fullest. Last week I was hit with one of the shocker of this year so far, I must admit, I am still in shock, although I am happy about the current outcome because I didn’t like being in the situation in the first place yet still in shock. I have thought how much I spent working my ass off to please people yet they did not even appreciate me doing all the extras to make things happen. Instead they bullied me and made me feel really really small and insecure about myself. And now I am out of the situation, I am happy that I don’t have to face the big bully anymore. They tried to make my life a living hell for as long as I can remember, they will always be a very small person who deserves everything that’s coming to them because karma’s a bitch. I am stronger than yesterday, nothing is going to stand in my way. I know that I will make it I just need to keep fighting and my hard work will pay off.

To make me want to shop everything on this list, Missguided are also doing a deal which means you can save when you shop; use code SUMMER for 40% off and use SHOELOVE for 20% shoes – both codes are valid until 24th of June.
My ultimate blogging goal is to one day having the means to stop working for the cooperation and work for myself doing something i absolutely love.
Here is a famous quote from Leonardo DiCaprio one of my greatest hollywood idol ‘If you can do what you do best and be happy, you’re further along in life than most people’ this quote really speaks to me and I can honestly say that i keep dreaming and one day by the grace of God I shall achieve this dream
I honestly though I have blogged for a while now and i wanted to share with you some of the tips and tricks I use to help me blog on a low-income. As many of you may know, I work part-time and study part-time and I now live away from home which is crazy hard and I have to budget all the time which sucks but that’s what i signed up for.
Finding the perfect photographer
Living on a low-income and blogging is also pretty hard as well plus I am still pretty shy in front of the camera and because I don’t have an instagram boyfriend, i have to use a photographer and I have found the perfect one through a blogger friend of mine. My photographers name is Marianne. She an amazing photographer who is very patient, understands how i want my photos and is just an all round perfect friend and I have worked with her for a while now and i keep going back because I just miss her when I don’t use her for my photographer and i really hope she will continue to work with me through the years.
One of the other reasons why I was lucky to have Marianne in my life is that she is charges very reasonable fees for the shoot and she is a girl boss just like me so I was and am very happy to continue to work with her. Plus she’s very talented. If you are looking to try out a photography and you’re based in London, drop her a message and I am sure she’ll be happy to do your shoot.
Overcoming my shyness
The more I do these shoots the more I am getting use to being in front of the camera and as you may see from my photos, I don’t try to pose too much because I don’t feel confident enough yet to be too posey plus, I don’t think I am much of a poser anyways. Maybe in the future I may become a poser but for now, I am quirky and fun.
Consistency is key
This is one of the steps i fail badly at; I am not very consistent at all. I honestly try to write posts but sometimes, It just doesn’t feel right so I don’t post it. And sometimes, I haven’t had the time to take photos to go with the writeups and post. I am working very hard to stick to posting every Tuesday which works for me because i can spend the weekend going over my post and making sure it’s top notch before i share it. And now that uni is now on holiday, I have more time for shots and being a bit more social.
Be true to who you are
Soz probably going to repeat myself again. People on social media sometimes are not really who they seem to be. So i try not to do something that I don’t feel comfortable with, I only wear and shots in outfits that i feel comfortable with and whenever, i feel too exposed you will be able to see it by looking at the pictures and your followers will react very negatively to posts they feel isnt you. You may think that being comfortable is boring but trust me dearie, it has happened to me, I lost half of my followers when I stopped blogging for six months and started taking pics with au natural. Basically, stick to what our followers can easily recognise with and stick with it unless you become really big and of course by then you have the freedom to go crazy. For the upcoming social media influencers, stick to what sells, don’t change unless you personally need a change the go ahead and change it for your better self.
Read your posts for errors
Again, I am really terrible at this, I sometimes thing that i may be retarded or something must be wrong with my brain sometimes, because there has been so many times when i have written something and I think it makes sense and have done spelling checks then i post it and to my horror realise it makes absolutely no sense or that there are so many spelling and grammar errors. my excuse is that english is not my first language and I haven’t’ really got anyone who is willing to proofread my posts so that it sound more eloquent.
Share, Share, Share
Because social media is flooding with many influencers, it is getting harder and harder everyday to get traffic to my site. Instagram has change their algorithm which has made it harder for people like us who are stuck in the office for the better half of the day and even using proper hashtags doesn’t work anymore, you have to personally, comment and interact with other people on the instagram before you get likes and comments. Twitter is one of the best of them, because you can schedule your tweets using tools like Buffer and tag bloggers sharing tags and hashtags and that will drive traffic to your site while you work. You must also remember to talk to people and not just send countless tweets about your posts on your blog.
What’s your top tips for being a social media person?
The weather has been so good here lately and I am totally loving it. I know you’re not meant to brag about good things but Gordon Bennett I hope it lasts all summer long. As i haven’t really planned my summer holiday yet this has been the perfect time to relax and have some fun in the sun and get some much-needed vitamin D in me. For a while now, I have thought how wonderful it will be to drop everything, quit my job and go travel the world. Oh how i wish, I was somewhere exotic sipping a funky tropical cocktail – it’s my greatest fantasy. How awesome will it be to have the freedom to go anywhere without having to think about responding to work emails or having to deal with the stress of uni. Let’s hope i can one day do my greatest life goal. For now thought, all i can do it dream.
I have really been loving adding some fun colours and prints to my outfit lately. I think I might have been influenced by my want for some tropical fun. I love this skirt , i bought from H&M last summer (I know shame on me) it’s still in excellent condition. As you may already know by now, I love me some chic outfits. These sandals are a new love, I got it from Public Desire with my student discount so I saved a few pounds. One of the perks of student life:-) I think for this look I was going for the chilled day vibe when I styled it in my head – I think this outfit is a total fun.
